Discovery begins as a collaboration with you, discussing your needs, aesthetic, and sustainability outcomes. We define the scope of the work together and assist you in estimating the budget. On site, we survey existing conditions to ensure accurate drawings and that no aspects are left unaccounted for. If you’re still searching, we can visit potential properties for you and send a report of our impressions.
Design of the space commences. We explore the feasibility of different layouts and create mood boards that capture the architectural and design language. We seek your feedback early and often as we develop increasing detail and curate items for every element of the project: materials, equipment, furniture, fixtures, lighting, and decoration, including custom-made options where appropriate. We show material and finish samples for you to get a sense of the colors and textures in the palette. This culminates in a virtual architectural model that you can walk through to understand how the space will look and function.
Documentation captures all details needed for the complete construction and furnishing program, including custom items. We draft and send the documents to contractors, furniture vendors, and craftspeople for quotes. We compare their proposals, analyzing them so you can feel confident in your choice of contractor.
Construction is monitored closely with our team’s regular site visits to ensure everything is built as designed and on schedule. We coordinate with the contractor, help solve issues if they arise, and report progress to you. We manage purchasing and delivery logistics of the selected furniture and decoration items, oversee their installation, and track invoices and the total budget.
Closing the project, we make a punch list of any corrections, then perform a final walkthrough with you and the contractor. We review their invoices before final payment and the accounting close-out.
